ALISON WATERS is currently at a career high No.5 in the Women’s World Rankings and as England’s highest ranked player will lead domestic interest in this years event.

The personable and determined right hander was voted the ‘Most Improved Player of the Year ‘by her fellow professionals in both 2004 and 2005. Coached by Paul Carter, a former British National Champion who was once so fit and strong that he used to frighten his opponents, Waters laughs about the fact that she would like to do the same. However, her twice a day training for six days a week has been maintained for over five years, during which she has become an ever menacing presence on Women’s World Tour.

Alison’s strong basic game and phlegmatic nature brought about an impressive end to 2008 which saw her reach the quarter-finals of the World Open, Qatar Classic and Hong Kong Open and an equally impressive return in 2009 as seen her getting ever closer to the top players.
